The Dodgers had some star support during their 3-1 NL Wild Card win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night.
Nationals outfielder Juan Soto and hitting coach Kevin Long came out west to support Max Scherzer and Trea Turner after the two stars were traded from Washington to Los Angeles in July.
Scherzer’s wife, Erica, posted a touching caption saying “There’s the family you make off the field and the family you make on the field. Feeling especially loved for so many reasons tonight. Juan and Klong – y’all are the best.”
Turner’s wife, Kristen, snapped an epic picture of Erica, Soto, and Long with an “amazing” caption.
Soto was rocking a Turner Nationals jersey, while Long had on Scherzer’s. Soto also had his World Series ring on from the team’s 2019 title, which included an NLDS win over the Dodgers.
Erica had kind words on Instagram for Soto and Long and offered a warning for the Dodgers’ next opponent in the NLDS.
“And to this new family in blue, all I can say is SF better watch out… we have a pretty good group too,” Erica wrote of the the NL West rival Giants.
Turner’s wife posted a photo of her husband holding their 8-month-old baby boy on the field. alongside his sister saying “What a year! First season with a baby, a trade and cross country move. I don’t think things can get much crazier SO bring on the postseason”
Game 1 of the Dodgers and Giants NLDS is on Friday night. San Francisco finished one game ahead of Los Angeles in the NL West this season.
