A field training police officer and two other people were killed in a wild shooting in a residential neighborhood in Georgia on Tuesday night, police said.
The mayhem unfolded after Clayton County police officers received reports of a woman and a young boy shot at two separate locations near Jervis Court in the community of Rex at about 8:40 p.m., authorities said.
After officers responded to the area, a gunman opened fire on them, leading to shootout.
Clayton County Field Training Officer Henry Laxson was killed in the exchange of gunfire. Another officer was also wounded, police said.
Two other victims died, and the gunman was also shot dead, authorities said.
The boy was listed in critical, but stable condition.
Audio of the shooting was captured on a nearby Ring doorbell video, which was obtained by WST-TV reporter Ashli Lincoln.
“We just heard an array of gunshots and sirens coming from every which direction,” area resident Crystal Walker told the news station.
“It’s crazy,” said Walker.
No additional information was immediately available on what triggered the violence.
