A former high school teacher in Hudson, Ohio, has pleaded guilty to child sex abuse, Fox 8 reports.

Heidi Hallstein, a 57-year-old former teacher in Hudson, Ohio, pleaded guilty on Friday to gross sexual imposition and attempted unlawful conduct with a minor.
This led to Hallstein’s ultimate conviction of the felonies.
According to the Portage County Court of Common Pleas, Heidi Hallstein entered a written plea of guilty for gross sexual imposition and attempted unlawful conduct with a minor.

The Hudson, Ohio, teacher was arrested last August after local authorities got wind of her alleged sexual misdeeds.
Portage County Sheriff David Doak reported that his team learned of the allegations against Hallstein on August 4.

Cleveland 19 reports that the sex-abuse incident in question involved a minor student at Hudson City Schools and took place at the Ohio teacher’s home.
The abuse occured in January 2017.
Hallstein remains out on bond until her sentencing.

Hudson has a population of about 22,000.
The town lies in the northeast corner of Ohio, southeast of Cleveland and north of Akron.
The Record Courier reported last year that after the Ohio teacher was arrested and charged with sexually abusing a student, the Hudson City School District Superintendent Phil Herman reported that she had resigned from her job.
At the time of Hallstein’s arrest on sex abuse charges, Herman indicated that the Hudson school district would “initiate the surrender of Ms. Hallstein’s teaching license with the Ohio Department of Education.”
Hallstein had been employed by the Hudson City School District since 1995.

“The charges stem from an alleged sexual encounter that took place off school property, in January 2017, with a former Hudson High School student who was a minor at the time,” said Herman in his statement in the wake of the Ohio teacher’s arrest.
“In order to protect the privacy of the student victim and the integrity of the investigation, we cannot share further details at this time.”
According to Cleveland.com, the statement continued: The District has been working diligently with the Hudson Police Department and has provided any relevant information the District has regarding these allegations. The Hudson Police Department investigated these serious allegations, and then properly referred their investigation to the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, where the alleged crime had occurred.”
The disgraced Hudson, Ohio, teacher has yet to receive a court date for her sentencing now that she’s pleaded guilty to and been convicted of the sex crimes.
Hudson police contacted sheriff’s deputies and informed them of a sexual assault involving a minor student, according to the sheriff’s office.
