Horrifying new video captured the moment a single-engine plane with two people aboard slammed into an SUV on a residential block in Florida – killing three people, including a young child.
Graphic footage caught by a neighbor’s doorbell camera shows the aircraft plunging nose-first into the vehicle and erupting in flames that spread across the street.
The pilot and a passenger aboard the plane were killed in the Monday crash while a woman and child in the SUV were left seriously injured, according to the Miami Herald, which cited Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue.
The child also later died from his injuries, officials confirmed later.
It was not immediately clear what caused the Beechcraft Bonanza to go down shortly after taking off about 3 p.m. Monday from North Perry Airport.
A mechanical problem may have caused the plane to clip a power line, Pembroke Pines Fire Chief Marcel Rodriguez told the Sun Sentinel.
The dramatic video, which was captured on the Ring camera of Anabel Fernandez, showed the crash near the 1300 block of Southwest 72nd Avenue.
“We went out and saw the fire; everything was on fire outside,” Fernandez told the Herald. “It was like a bomb.”
The vehicle’s occupants were taken to Hollywood’s Memorial Regional Hospital in serious condition.
Fernandez said the woman in the car was able to get out, but was screaming, “My baby!”
The two people on the plane were killed immediately. None of the victims have been identified.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the deadly crash.
