A day after Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley agreed to terms to be the next USC coach, former five-star Pinnacle High quarterback Spencer Rattler has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
But this was expected long before Riley was working on a deal to lead the Trojans.
Since losing his job to freshman Caleb Williams in the Texas game, Rattler, who came into the college football season as a Heisman Trophy candidate, was speculated as leaving Oklahoma after the season.
Mike Giovando, Rattler’s personal quarterback coach since he was in the sixth grade, called Rattler’s imminent transfer a “no-brainer.”
“Thank you again, Oklahoma. I will miss you,” Rattler ended his Twitter announcement.
