Three shot at illegal Long Island Airbnb party

Three people were seriously injured in a shooting early Tuesday at an illegal Airbnb party on Long Island, police said.

“There were several 911 calls about shots fired at a party,” Southampton Town Police spokeswoman Lt. Susan Ralph said.

Officers who responded to 26 Long Springs Road in Southampton around 3 a.m. saw partygoers fleeing the scene, Ralph said.

The three who had been shot were taken to Southampton Hospital by private means. One of them was later flown to Stony Brook University Hospital, she said.

“They were serious but non life-threatening injuries,” Ralph said.

The person who booked the house on the home sharing service for one night broke a town code that requires such rentals to run at least two weeks.
